1. I live in Santa Barbara, California. One of my daily routines is to take a peaceful, relaxing, soul-charging walk on the beach with my two dogs, Pokey & Thurman. I try and make it for the sunset, and after a long day with my three kids, I need a little time for myself and to reconnect with the Lord!
2. I love my brothers and sisters so much. There are seven of us altogether. Last year I started feeling like we were all living separate lives and around Christmas time, I made a vow that I was going to either call, email or text every one of my siblings each and every day. I am happy to say that I have kept my vow! I truly feel a million times more connected to them now.
3. My husband is really into politics, and let's just say that I am not too great with keeping up on current events! So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and downloaded the USA Today application onto my iPhone. Now I can read the top 6 or 7 headlines at the touch of a finger. It certainly gives me and my husband more to talk about!
4. I eat a box of blueberries each and every day, (mega antioxidants)! Plus, they remind me of my dad who passed away seven years ago; they were his favorite.
5. I help to support an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico called "Los Angelitos," which means little angels, and they certainly are. You can learn more at www.losangelitos.org.

Vaughan's Fun Facts

1. I have a VERY hard time saying no to little furry creatures that show up on my doorstep, or jump out of the woods and follow me when I’m on power walks, looking for a home or for food. Seven cats isn’t too many to have, right?
2. My life changed drastically for the better (and I am not exaggerating) when I bought my Verizon cell phone with a talking navigator!!!  I used to be so lost that I hardly went anywhere without another person, not to mention turning down a lot of fun events with friends. But, I’m now liberated, free and guided...just like I’m guided from my internal navigator, Jesus Christ. Where would I be without you Lord? And where would I be without you little talking navigator?
3. I’m not materialistic at all, but admit that I have very strong feelings for ALL Gibson guitars, especially vintage ones, especially acoustic ones, and especially B25 models. How 'bout a beautiful classic 1963, faded to sunburst color, or a 1966 B25 medium light wood finish? These guitars feel like they belong with me on my journey....
4. I have to sleep with a box fan and like to use nightlights.... believe it or not I sleep much better and more sound with a moody colored night light and HAVE to have a fan noise (and yes the louder the better)... so I will love sleeping on the tour bus!!
5. I’m not superficial. I feel a strong sense of loyalty and like to make the most of things I buy. For example, I drive a 16-year-old car with 263,000 miles on it. Yes, you guessed it an Acura. I tried to buy a new car this year and just couldn't do it. I could not let my Acura go, "Miss Lewis" (little white sweetie). Once again I developed feelings for an inanimate object...but a very reliable, dependable, affordable, and still sporty object who had become my friend, especially during the long drives when I would pray and listen on the awesome car stereo. I would turn up Third Day and the new Chynna & Vaughan CD (One Reason) real, real loud. I have so many memories in this car. I drive it like it is new, over the mountains back and forth from Carolina to Nashville all of the time!!! One day maybe I will be ready for a new ride, but until then…Happy Trails...and many blessings!
