vaughan.jpg About My Best Friend, Chynna...
Posted by Vaughan on 09.24.09

I am overwhelmingly amazed, but not surprised, with my best friend Chynna’s ability to forgive. My heart goes out to her for what she must be feeling with regards to her father, and to her sister, Mackenzie.

This is a very sad and dark story, but it is through God’s redemption and Chynna’s faith that there is also light here. It must be so hard, because after all, this is Chynna’s father we are talking about.

But this is Chynna’s earthly father.

Chynna has found another Father who will never let her down: her heavenly Father. She has found that no matter what the sin is, we all fall short as human beings on our own.

God sent his only son, Jesus, to earth to die for our sins. We are forgiven of our sins if we believe in Him as our savior. Because of God’s grace and mercy, Chynna is able to forgive and love her dad and sister.

Through Chynna’s actions in this situation, we are seeing amazing faith and an amazing testimony. We are called to not return evil for evil, not to return an eye for an eye, but to be an instrument of peace where there is hate.

We must forgive; we must not judge. As Jesus said, “those without sin, throw the first stone.”

Thank you Jesus for your grace and mercy!

Peace of God to you, Chynna!

Love....Vaughan

Wow! what an awesome! website and testimony. I am a drummer for one of the local bands that will be playing tomorrow in Madill. I came to your website because I am a researcher and like to know about the people I will be dealing with. I am so impressed with your statements about fogiveness and your positions on nonretaliation. Your messages speak so much to my heart. I truly believe in and support your positions 110%. I believe that we must, as Christians, practice a life of forgiveness. My father was an abusive man and I hated him most of my life. However, he became very sick and I began to pray for him. As I prayed for him, I noticed that my anger and hatred towards him was going away. My father died about two years ago. Before he died I was able to forgive him completely. I am also happy to say thatt I was able to pray with him and watch him come into a relationship with jesus. I believe he died a Christian and that I will see him in Heaven someday. Thank you for your work. I look forward to hearing you tomorrow.

Wow! How refreshing to hear both of your testimonies! I am so encouraged by your faith; and excited to see what God is going to do. Chynna, I can really understand about feeling not good enough for the love of Jesus but as I have gotten older, I see His love so more clearly, and He is so awesome! I love your music-keep it coming.

He brings beauty from ashes, pain from despair. He is the repairer of the breech. He makes our lives like watered gardens (Is. 58.. loosely translated ;-)). His mercies are new every morning. You two are radiant examples of the beauty of His grace. All His strength be given to you everywhere you go, to everyone you touch. He will heal lots of hearts through you both!

We are praying for Chynna, her father, and her sister to be healed in this sad moment in their lives. We pray that forgiveness is abundant and God's light shines on everyone involved. Don't give up faith Chynna =)

Dear Chynna,
I am born again, praise God. I am also writing out of concern for younger victims of abuse from their fathers, many of whom are active in the church, that their victims will use this as more evidence that they have to "forgive" and "not tell" and "honor thy father." All horrible things I have heard myself and others told to not tell about our abuse. PLEASE, make this a more clear, teachable moment for the many, many girls who are being abused -- and so horribly often, by church-going, thought-of-as-Christian fathers. Prayers and blessings to you, wonderful, sister Chynna.

I had always lstened to Wilson Phillips but for Chynna to make an awesome chnge I am happy for her. You are a great sister to have to forgive and give your sister peace of mind. I love you as much. Also I would like to comment how great looking that you have become. I am looking forward to the new album.

I saw Chynna on Oprah and I was VERY proud of her and her sis! I, too, am an incest survivor and God is good through it all! Thanks so much for your testimony, Chynna, and I pray that Mackenzie does "get the Lord on board"!
I just found out about your music and am anxious to hear it!
Sherry
